Tyson did good at State. He placed 12th this year out of 105 boys. Not bad. His team placed fourth. We had a good time. Tyson actually let us watch him. He even got his picture in the Deseret News. It's just hard to believe that his High School Golf carreer is over. I hope he gets to play in college. State was at the Soldier Hollow Golf course in the Heber Valley. It's a fun course. The weather wasn't too bad, just a little windy. We had a great time and we enjoyed our stay at Park City.
Halloween Fun
This is me and my gang at work. Since we can't go too overboard in dressing up, we were all pretty conservative. I'm a golf pro if you can't tell. Wendy is the one with the Wendy wig. Giselle is next to me. She looks the best. The next is Catie, then Judaline. Kneeling is Sarah and Mary. This isn't all of us but the boys didn't dress up.
It's about time...
My how time flies. Here it is November and I haven't blogged for awhile. Sorry kids. I need to get back into this. alot has happened. Where should I start? I'll just talk about Tyson because Dad and I are boring. But here is an picture we took last Sunday. And notice my eyes are open. Dad turned off the flash.

Tyson and Golf
Tyson has done great so far this summer on his golf. In his last three tournaments, he has taken first. The first one was at Dixie Red Hills on May 28th. The second was in a Parent Jr. tournament at The Ledges on June 3rd. He played that with his Dad. And the Third was at the Cedar Hills Golf Course, a scramble, he played with his friend Tyler and Tylers' Dad and another friend. He's off to a good start. He has at least one a week for the rest of the summer. I hope he does well. I'll keep you posted.

PIONEER TREK 2008
On June 5,6, and 7th, Tyson, Steve and I went on a Pioneer Trek with our Stake. Steve and I were Ma and Pa for a group of 4 boys and 5 girls. Tyson was with another family. There were 14 family's with 7-9 in kids in each family from the ages of 13-17. We went to the Kiabab National forest. in Norhtern Arizona. Each family had their own handcarts and our belongings were packed in a gunny sack and that included our sleeping bags. Our trek was 13 miles long. It was fun but tiring. We realized we didn't prepare enough. We did not sleep in tents but under the moon and stars. The first morning our sleeping bags were covered with frost. They fed us very well. The hardest part was the women's pull. The Ma's were not allowed to help the girls pull the cart and the road was the worst part of the whole trek. It was uphill and full of rocks and ruts. It was hard for the boys to not help but about halfway up the hill, they allowed the boys to pull gunny sacks out of the cart to lighten the load. After our handcart reached the top of the hill, my girls, along with some others, ran down the hill and helped other carts up. It was a very spiritual experiance. One I will never forget. On Saturday, we ended the trek on the North rim of the Grand Canyon. It is so beautiful. There our Stake President, President Dunn, spoke to us and then we had a testimony meeting. We have some outstanding youth in our stake. This was a wonderful experience and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to go. I'm thankful for my ancestors and what they went through. We have some great, great, great Grandparents, Ole and Anna Maria Andreason' who crossed the plains in handcarts. There is not alot written about it in their histories but I'm grateful to them for their example.
I'm sorry I don't have pictures of the trek because we were not allowed to take our camera.

Antelope Slots Canyon
It was a long and windy road, when one morning Bonnie and I went for a drive to Page, Arizonia. The sun was shining in our eyes. After a great day of golf, around 2pm, we visited some of the ancient sacred Navajo Slot Canyons, located 6 miles southeast of Page, AZ and Lake Powell Resivour. You can see by these photos why the first ancient Navajo man, believed them to be scared, because of their undescribable beauty! Lead by our young Navajo guide, Mom and I and the other 10 people on the tour were amazed at how things could change at every turn. After walking nearly half a mile I once again raised above the ground as a earthworm would do. (note to video below) If you ever drive by it's a place worth stopping!
